Memphis knows how to throw a party, and if that party involves hot wings, live music, and raising money for a good cause—you know it’s going to be a day well spent. The 2025 World Championship Hot Wing Contest & Festival is back for its 23rd year, and it’s taking over River Garden Park (that’s at the corner of Jefferson and Riverside) on Saturday, April 26 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Whether you’re a die-hard wing aficionado or just someone who loves a good time with good people, this festival has something for you. Over 60 cooking teams will be throwing down their best hot wing recipes—grilling, saucing, and serving up flavors that range from fiery to flavorful. If you want in on the action, all you need is a grill and a registration. (Oh—and a competitive spirit. There’s $5,000 in cash prizes, trophies, and major bragging rights on the line.)

The day kicks off in classic Memphis style with a Second Line Parade led by the Memphis Second Line Jazz Band, marching festival-goers straight into the park and into the groove. Expect two stages full of live music throughout the day, featuring local and regional artists who know how to bring the heat—on stage and off.

Of course, you can’t forget the Wing Eating Contest. Watching brave (or just very hungry) folks try to down wings at lightning speed is its own kind of art form. Equal parts entertaining and intense.

Tickets are $15 online and $25 at the door, with kids 8 and under getting in free. And while you’re enjoying those wings and vibes, know that every bite supports a bigger purpose: the festival raises funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Memphis, helping families stay close while their children receive treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. To date, the event has raised over $350,000 for the cause.

So mark your calendar, bring your appetite, and get ready for a day full of flavor and fun—all in the heart of Downtown Memphis.

If you’re looking for a truly rare steak (or medium rare), then Memphis should be on your list. Our prime steakhouses offer unique and flavorful meats with a bit of Southern flair for that homestyle taste. And we’ve rounded up a list of some of our favorites to help get you started on your steak tour around the 901. Here are some steakhouses worth checking out during your visit to Bluff City.

Folk’s Folly Prime Steak House

Here in Memphis, the name Folk’s Folly is synonymous with steak. It’s the original prime steak house in town, with a selection of prime cuts, enhancers, and deluxe sides. You can even round out your meal with some classic Southern favorites with an elegant spin, like the green beans cooked with ham hock, fried pickles, or a slice of pecan pie, complete with a scoop of ice cream.

Porch and Parlor

Located in Overton Square, this midtown steakhouse offers a perfect blend of prime cuts and paired drinks for the ultimate luxury experience. Start your meal with some fried green tomatoes or prime filet egg rolls for some Memphis flavor, or indulge in a wagyu-tasting of international steaks. We recommend ending the meal with a banana pudding or a key lime martini.

Side Porch Steakhouse

Here’s a more casual steakhouse that still brings the flavor. Side Porch in Bartlett is perfect for a more relaxed vibe, and you can still order your favorite cuts, like a porterhouse, NY strip, and filet. Start your dinner with some cowboy caviar and add a side of fried okra for bold flavors and Southern charm.

Right next door to the Agricenter is The Butcher Shop, a steakhouse with such unique offerings as Hawaiian ribeye, bone-in cowboy ribeye, and stuffed filet mignon. Though not an actual butcher shop, you’ll enjoy fresh fixings and prime cuts at this local treasure. On Fridays, they also offer lunches of fresh burgers, catfish sandwiches, Cajun tater tots, and more.

We’re not biased when we say the food scene here in Memphis is truly unrivaled. Our unique eateries go beyond barbecue and Southern favorites – we also have a ton of delectable options for chicken wings. So we’ve gathered some of the most talked-about restaurants in the 901 for their spicy, savory, and even sometimes sweet wings. Be sure to visit one (or all) of these restaurants to try the best wings in Memphis.

Central BBQ

If you’re not branching out and trying Central’s wings, then it’s high time you make a trip just for their tasty options. You can try their smoked hot wings in wet, naked, jerked, dry spice, honey gold, or sweet heat in one of their many locations around Memphis. They have the perfect smoky flavor you know and love from their other barbecue favorites, making these a must for any party or football night. Consider serving these with their sausage and cheese plate for an easy and delicious party platter.

Ching’s Hot Wings

Ching’s has been around for 20 years, and it’s not hard to see why. You can also try their other 21 flavors of wings, like garlic sriracha, lemon pepper hot, spicy taco, and so much more. Though Beale is one of our more famous streets, we also have some other notable spots around town, especially for the food. Summer Avenue in Memphis is a bustling part of the city with a wide range of things to do (and things to eat). So we rounded up a few of the must-see spots on this busy street for a taste of the 901.

Elwood’s Shack

Though Elwood’s has two locations, the Summer Avenue spot is the original. You can find everything from brunch to barbecue at this Southern restaurant, including original favorites like the award-winning Debris Po’Boy, brisket tacos, or BBQ benedict. They also offer catering options so you can bring a bit of Memphis flavor to your next event or party.

Dim Sum King

For an authentic Chinese restaurant, make a trip to Dim Sum King on Summer. You can order classics, like sweet and sour chicken or Mongolian beef, or you can branch out and try something new. We highly recommend the Japanese tofu, mango pudding, or the BBQ roast duck. You can order online or dine in to try some unique drinks with your meal.

Queen of Sheba

Queen of Sheba gives you authentic Middle Eastern cuisine right here in Bluff City. Go for a classic appetizer of hummus or falafel, and try a cultural platter for a mix of flavors like chicken fahsah or lamb haneeth. You can treat your taste buds with Yemeni desserts to round off your meal (like the always favorite baklava).

Island Paradise Takeout

You can find this food truck around town, but usually, it makes a stop on Summer. Satisfy your craving for classic Jamaican favorites, from jerk chicken to beef patties. This on-the-go eatery also has sweet treats to offset the spice, like rum sauce cheesecake and fried plantains.

Bryant’s Breakfast

No matter the time of day, you can catch a freshly made breakfast at Bryant’s. This homestyle restaurant serves Southern breakfast, including biscuits and gravy, country ham, pancakes, and more. Top off your savory meal with something sweet, like their homemade cinnamon rolls or French toast, for a hearty bite that’ll keep your energy up.

Elena’s Taco Shop

Yes, you can even find California-style tacos and burritos here in Memphis. Elena’s brings the West Coast to the South with their favorites, like the carne asada burrito, chicken rice bowl, and even the California burrito, complete with fries inside. They even do breakfast burritos if you want to jumpstart your day with some Cali flair.

It’s no secret that the 901 is full of tasty food inspired by local culture and our melting pot of people. That’s why Guy Fieri has taken a few trips to the Bluff City for his show, Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. And if you want a taste of some of the renowned recipes this Food Network star has loved, then we’ve got some delicious spots around Memphis you’ll definitely need to add to your weekend plans.

Little Bettie Pizza & Snack Bar at Wiseacre Brewing

With Wiseacre winning a recent award for their beer, it’s time to visit the pizza kitchen of theirs that earned praise from Guy Fieri. From Tuesday through Sunday, you can grab snacks like burgers, charcuterie boards, pizza, and more from this downtown location. We recommend trying what Guy did during his visit: the Thud Butt pizza and Imagine the Future wings.

Alcenia’s

Alcenia’s has been featured on many shows and outlets, and once you stop by this spot, there’s no question why. This local eatery serves up some classic Southern favorites and soul food for a meal that tastes like home. Check out what Guy tried back in 2011, some classics that never go out of style: Cha-Cha and pork chops.

Good Fortune Co.

Memphis isn’t just known for our Southern food and barbecue. You can also find this Asian-inspired restaurant that makes noodles and dumplings from scratch. Take a bite of the Lights Out Noodles and crawfish dumplings for a taste of what they served during Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.

Las Tortugas Deli Mexicana

For authentic Mexican food that’s Triple D-worthy, check out Las Tortugas’ two locations in Germantown and East Memphis. This Mexican restaurant boasts an impressive menu with authentic favorites and some unique twists for a delicious bite each time. How about ordering some king crab tacos with a side of elote?

The Bar-B-Q Shop

This list wouldn’t be complete without some barbecue, and where better than the Bar-B-Q Shop? This spot is the home of barbecue spaghetti, and that delicious and unexpected blend is just one of many reasons to try it for yourself. You can even take home some of the Dancing Pigs barbecue sauce or dry rub seasoning.

The Farmer at Railgarten

The Farmer, formerly the Elegant Farmer, is a farm-to-table eatery that Guy has described as “outstanding” with “big flavor.” Making a reservation at this restaurant means you get an elevated experience with classic Southern bites. Guy himself had the pan-seared catfish, but you can’t go wrong with anything on this menu.

Loaf Memphis

Out of all the restaurants Guy Fieri’s tried, he said Loaf is the first spot that makes their own chili crisp. It’s worth dropping by this modern Memphis joint, with its rotating menu and cuisine inspired by both local and international groups around the city. For a taste of what Guy tried, consider the Sichuan Pepperjelly Fried Chicken Sandwich, the Chickpea Salad Sandwich, and the Black Eyed Pea Falafel when they’re on the menu.

Gus’s Fried Chicken

Gus’s is a staple of the 901, and now, you can find it in many more cities beyond Memphis. You can’t beat the original location, however, which is where they visited on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Drop by for some fried chicken that Guy described as “bananas” (in the best way) and for a sample of what Travel Channel voted at the 12th Tastiest Restaurant in America to Chow Down.

Trap Fusion

Memphis meets the Caribbean at Trap Fusion in Whitehaven and Cordova. You can find a blend of unique flavors and signature dishes at this spot, open from Tuesday through Saturday. Try the jerk lamb and oxtails to see what Guy Fieri loved about this local restaurant.

Cozy Corner BBQ

This Memphis barbecue spot has been around since the 70s, so it’s about time it received some accolades from the Travel Channel. Try a classic cozy barbecue plate with a sweet dessert to round off the meal, or give yourself a taste of something different with a Cornish hen, BBQ bologna, or some caramel cake.

Elwood’s Shack has two locations, Poplar and Summer, but both offer delicious breakfast and weekend brunches to keep your energy up in the morning. Their country breakfast options have Southern favorites, from fried chicken biscuits to acai bowls for a healthier choice. We recommend trying the BBQ burrito for breakfast or the BBQ benedict at brunch for some Memphis flavor.

EggXactly Breakfast and Deli

Try breakfast or brunch at EggXactly, a place with many tasty options from Tuesday through Sunday. You can build your own breakfast bowls for a custom experience or get some classic favorites, like a breakfast platter, pancakes, and omelet meals. They even have a special called EggXactly’s Beale Street, a Bourbon French toast topped with berries and syrup, with a side of eggs and your choice of meat.

This breakfast spot is all about the eggs, and at Eggs Up Grill, you can get omelets, eggs benedict, steak and eggs, and so much more. This Memphis restaurant even adds eggs to your shrimp and grits bowls, avocado toast, and coastal crab cakes. Don’t miss out on their sweet menu options, like banana foster French toast or caramel apple pancakes, to give your morning a sugary boost.

Memphis has always been a place of big hearts and even bigger ideas, where the spirit of soul finds its home. So, when you’re seeing your fellow Memphians’ faces across the city, you’re seeing a mirror reflecting our collective pride.

We’ll be sharing stories of how your fellow Memphians connect with our city through food, fitness, music, and so much more! Be sure to keep an eye out for billboards across the city featuring some familiar faces!

Meet Dr. SunAh M. Laybourn

She’s the powerhouse behind Memphis’ very first official Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month celebration that’s centered around empowering Asian Americans and spreading the love for their contributions to our city. She’s not your average sociology professor at the University of Memphis; she’s dedicated to uplifting Memphis’ Asian community–one that has had roots in our city for more than 150 years. She’s also the host of “Let’s Grab Coffee” on WYXR, where she “catches up with experts from across the country, who are investigating our most pressing social issues and common curiosities.”

“You can tell a lot about a city by the food it’s known for, the cuisines that characterize a part of town, the ingredients that are hard to find or simply aren’t available locally.

In Memphis, BBQ has become so synonymous with the Bluff City that it can be easy to forget that our city’s claim to BBQ was the result of an intentional decision to add the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest to the second celebration of Memphis in May in 1978. Like Memphis in May itself, the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest was part of a plan to draw visitors back to Memphis and especially back to downtown. The first grand champion, Mrs. Bessie Louise Cathey, an African-American homemaker from Mississippi, beat out a couple dozen other competitors. Now the competition boasts around 150 teams from across the U.S. and Puerto Rico as well as international participants.

While food can craft a city’s future, there’s also the food that may be lesser known but no less central to a city’s story. On Beale Street just west of South 4th Street, there’s a historical marker memorializing the Chop Suey Café. The marker notes that it is “believed to be the longest operating Chinese restaurant in Memphis,” operating from 1920 to 1967. Though its longevity is impressive, Chop Suey Café and the other businesses that Chinese immigrants operated on Beale Street as early as 1873 are part of our city’s past – and present – that expands Memphis’s typical narrative of who has been here and who belongs.

Food bridges the past, present, and future. When we explore a city’s food culture, we are quite literally feasting on the legacies of the people who made that place home, who have been invested in a city’s survival, and who have been committed to creating community. It is through locally owned restaurants that we also have the opportunity to connect with a city’s residents and learn where a city may be headed.

It was an impossible task to narrow down my favorite restaurants – and our city’s ever-expanding food culture and community – to just five. Undoubtedly, there is much that this short list couldn’t cover, but may this be a part of your food adventure in the city I call home, whether you too are a lifetime resident or just passing through.

Anti Gentrification Cxffee Club

I love coffee. No sugar, no cream. Just coffee. And, the Anti Gentrification Cxffee Club is brewing some of the best coffee in the city. There’s their signature Guji Mane (gotta love the double entendre), which you must try, but it was a pour-over of their Basha Bekele that changed my life. It’s not hyperbole to say that Cxffeeblack is changing lives – not only through exposing folks to the natural flavors of a cup of coffee but also through their commitment to the local neighborhood, to creating an all Black supply chain of coffee from Ethiopia to the U.S. and Memphis specifically, and to training baristas in cultural and coffee knowledge through their transnational Black Barista Exchange Program.

Kinfolk Biscuits

It wouldn’t be the South without some scratch-made biscuits. Before they moved into their brick-and-mortar, Kinfolk Biscuits had a weekend residency at Comeback Coffee (another favorite). Each weekend the line would be down the block before the doors even opened. While the biscuits are noteworthy on their own, it’s the delicious biscuit sandwich combinations that make it impossible not to include them in my Top 5. There’s the chicken biscuit – because how could you not? – and then there’s the lox biscuit. I have strong opinions about lox bagels, so trust me when I say I approached this selection with deep skepticism. Ultimately, I was delighted to find out that lox and biscuits are a yummy pair. In addition to the savory options, there are also various combinations of fresh fruits, jam, and even Nutella.

La Michoacana

There are few things I enjoy more than a cold treat on a hot day. Memphis has plenty of hot days, which means more time to work your way through all of the paletas and hand-made ice creams on La Michoacana’s menu. Whether you choose one of the water or cream-based paletas with chunks of fruit or opt for ice cream flavors you won’t get anywhere else – like elote, Mexican cake, or chili mango – you will certainly find more than a few new favorite sweet treats.

Mosa Asian Bistro

I can’t quite remember the first time I ate here, and I certainly couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve grabbed some Mosa to go, popped in for lunch, or recommended them to a friend. But, what I can tell you is that Mosa’s commitment to fresh ingredients, making everything in-house from the sauces to soups and everything their menu offers, and training young people in hospitality so that customers feel like part of a delicious food community will keep you coming back. In fact, people have kept coming back to this family-owned and operated restaurant since 1978 when Mr. Eddie Pao opened what would eventually become the Mosa Asian Bistro that we know today.

Petals of Peony

This authentic Sichuan restaurant opened in late summer 2023 and immediately made it to my Top 5 Memphis eats. Its opening speaks to our city’s expanding food palate and growing population. The menu is extensive, and if you’re still learning Sichuan cuisine (like I am), then the sparse descriptions give you little to go on, making this the perfect place to get out of your restaurant routine and explore. The flavors are truly phenomenal. You cannot go wrong… unless you limit your order to one or two items. Yes, everything is that good. Grab a friend, try a few items that pique your interest, and if you need an extra epicure, I’ll meet you there!”

A huge thank you to SunAh for sharing just a few spots that connect her to the city’s soul and allow her to express her own! Ready to share yours? Be sure to tag us at @wearememphistn as you show off your city and soul!

Something everyone should know about Memphis: We’ve got the best food. And no, there’s no bias in that statement… Trust us. Not only do we have the eats, but a lot of places are serving them up until the early hours. This is a college town, after all, and many late-night study sessions deserve some brain food. Here are some of our favorite late night food Memphis spots around the 901.

RP Tracks Restaurant & Bar

Speaking of the UofM, this late-night restaurant is just a block from campus so you can grab some delicious bites easily. (You should definitely try their BBQ tofu while you’re at it.) They’re open until 1:00 AM every night.

Huey’s

Huey’s is a staple in Memphis, and their burgers are legendary. You can find them in multiple locations around town; some stay open until midnight or 1:00 AM.

Silly Goose

Got a hankering for wood-fired pizza? You’re in luck with Silly Goose, a stop with Italian eats that stays open until 2:00 AM during the week and 3:00 AM on the weekends.

Bardog Tavern

For sliders, snacks, and everything in between, Bardog Tavern has it all. They’re open until 3:00 AM every night of the week, perfect for ending those late-night shifts with some good food.

Lafayette’s

Lafayette’s doesn’t just have the music – they have the food, too! From Friday to Saturday, you can stay and eat until 1:00 AM, and even on Sunday, they stay open until midnight.

Slider Inn

There are two Slider Inn locations in Memphis, one in midtown and one downtown. Both stay open until midnight or 1:00 AM most nights, so stop by and get some famous sliders.

Westy’s

If you’re looking for a late-night delivery, Westy’s can bring the eats to you until 2:00 AM. They’ve got everything from burgers to classic Creole dishes to fulfill any appetite.

Earnestine and Hazel’s

We all know Earnestine and Hazel’s is haunted, but it’s also scary how good their food is. Plus, you may catch a ghost or two during their late hours.

There’s so much to love about Memphis, from the history to the music and even the Bass Pro Pyramid in all its strange glory. But one thing that makes this city truly great is the wide array of food options. And there’s no shortage of truly unique places to eat in Memphis. Whether it’s their menu or their entire aesthetic, we want to share some of the best one-of-a-kind spots around town that you’re gonna love!

Global Café

Global Café is an international food hall with a menu as eclectic and unique as its chefs who cook recipes from their home countries. Try authentic dishes from all over the world right here in Memphis at an affordable price.

Tamboli’s Pasta & Pizza

Tamboli’s is a downtown eatery with authentic Italian fare, and the restaurant itself offers beautiful views of Madison with its large windows. Between their brilliant twists on classic foods and unique decor, this is one spot you’ll want to visit.

Bishop – Central Station Hotel

You don’t need to stay at the Central Station Hotel to enjoy Bishop, although you likely won’t want to leave once you step inside. This upscale French-inspired eatery serves breakfast through dinner and drinks to go with every meal, with modern French vibes in its decor to match the menu.

Spring is right around the corner and any Memphian knows that means patio season is approaching! The best way to enjoy the warmer weather? Heading out for brunch! Looking for the best brunch in Memphis? We’ve got you covered!

The Beauty Shop

If you’re in Midtown, you’re not going to want to miss out on one of the best brunch spots in Memphis. Not only do they have a killer cocktail program, but they have some of the most unique (and delicious) brunch menus in the city. You can stick with a classic mimosa or spice it up with pineapple + vanilla bean-infused vodka. As for the food? The chilaquiles and watermelon + wings are two dishes you have to taste!

SOB

Heading south of Beale St.? You should try, well, South of Beale! This restaurant is a long time local favorite and their brunch is outstanding. You can grab a mimosa (and you should), but if you’re looking to try out the espresso martini trend this is a great place to do it! Thinking about the food, there are tons of great menu items–shoutout to the duck fried rice. But you should give their loco moco a try! It’s their take on the Hawaiian classic and is the perfect addition to any brunch adventure!

The Liquor Store

If you’re in the mood for brunch every single day of the week, this would be one of the best brunch spots in Memphis for you! Their menu has all the classic breakfast items you could want plus some seriously delicious burgers, sandwiches, and more. If you’re into pork, try out the Cuban sandwich or add their Cuban pork as your meat selection for any of the breakfast plates!

Staks Pancakes

Wake up early for this one–Stacks Pancakes gets busy early! With good reason too–the food is delicious! In need for a family-friendly place? This is it. With tons of locations across the Mid-South, there’s probably a spot that’s close by. Our recommendations: start with the sausage skewers, grab their Stak of the month, and build your own omelet!

If there’s one thing you should know (or do know) about our city, it’s that Memphians love to eat. Whether it’s the classics like soul food or Memphis BBQ or something new and a little swanky, our restaurant scene cooks up delicious dishes no matter the style. In the market for something new to add to your “must eat” lists? There are so many new restaurants in Memphis Our team’s resident foodie put together a list of restaurants they’re excited to check out or have added to their favorites!

This list is by no means exhaustive so, if you have a restaurant that we should know about, be sure to reach out and tag us on Instagram or TikTok @wearememphistn!

South Main

The Lobbyist

Jimmy Gentry’s new restaurant isn’t just located in the former Swanky’s spot near The Chisca and Catherine + Mary’s, it’s gotten a lot of buzz! The menu focuses on using what’s in season/sourced from farmers in the area and I’m all about a hyper-local restaurant. Their cocktail program also focuses on adding a little twist to the drinks we know and love. As a gin and tonic fanatic, I’m definitely here for new bar programs that stick to the classics while adding a little ~spice~ to their menus.

Item I’m excited to try: the pasta with pork sofrito, garlic, tarragon, grana padano, and panna gratta

IBIS

If a restaurant has a great aesthetic, chances are I’m going to want to give it a try. And, as far as new restaurants in Memphis goes, Ibis definitely delivers! Not only do they have a delicious looking dinner menu, but the brunch looks insane. The space has both an upstairs and a downstairs, which gives plenty of space for those looking for a friends night out but is also cozy enough for those solo “man I answered way too many emails and socialized way too much and just need a good drink” moments.

I also totally respect when a cocktail lounge has a good mix of both snacky, small plates and larger, entree sized portions!

Item I’m excited to try: the build your own brunch bowl and (bonus) smokin’ gin + phonics cocktail

new restaurants in memphis - ramen

Good Fortune Co. (New-ish)

Okay, Memphis foodie community. I know this isn’t technically super new, but I think Good Fortune definitely deserves a shoutout. I’m a massive ramen fan and get way too pumped when the city gets a new ramen or Japanese spot. While the ramen, of course, is delicious, you’re not going to want to miss out on the dumplings. And I totally mean it when I say you have to try all of them. No questions asked. Bring friends if you need, but you have to try them all!

My recommendation: spicy pork ramen + all of the dumplings

East Memphis ( + Beyond)

Restaurant Iris (New-ish)

After 15 years in Midtown, Chef Kelly English has moved Iris to East Memphis! So, while this isn’t a new restaurant in Memphis, it’s new to the space and should totally count. As a fan of Second Line and Panta, I can’t wait to try the elevated Southern deliciousness happening at Restaurant Iris. I’ve mentioned it a ton before, but aesthetics are just so important when I’m checking out new spots–Iris is absolutely beautiful!

Item I’m excited to try: Crab Au Gratin with jumbo lump crab, creme fraiche, sherry, brioche crouton, browned bearnaise

Limelight (Germantown)

If you remember the old Farm + Fries (rip) building, you’re already familiar with the Limelight space! However, it’s been completely renovated and the concept is sooo completely different from burgers and fries. There’s Southern, Asian, and French influences throughout the menu and, honestly, it’s kind of hard to pick just one thing I’d like to try! If I had to pick…

Item I’m excited to try: pork belly skewers with thai chili, honeycrisp apple, shoyu glaze, and watercress

Again, this isn’t a complete list of all the new restaurants in Memphis, but it’s a start! If you have any recommendations for restaurants we should check out, make sure you share them with us!

Black History Month is a pivotal time in Memphis; not only because our city has been at the center of Black innovation and achievement for generations, but also because we still continue to see Memphis’ Black community influence worldwide culture today. However, part of the importance of this month shouldn’t be forgotten all of the other months throughout the year, so we’re here to share some black owned restaurants in Memphis you can support year-round. And with Memphis being such a foodie city, it’s no wonder we wanted to highlight these in particular!

Da Guilty Vegan Food Truck

Being a vegan in the city of barbecue may be rough at times, but Da Guilty Vegan is here to demonstrate that good food can still be animal-free! Whether you’re craving barbecue nachos, a burger, or even some delicious sandwiches, this place has a wide rotating selection of foods you’ll want to try again and again. You can usually spot this food truck down Houston Levee, but if you want to double-check where this truck will be stopping next, check out their social media for all of the updates.

Brain Food Memphis

Think fresh, natural, organic food can’t possibly be hearty? Think again. BrainFood in Memphis uses the best ingredients to create scrumptious, mouth-watering dishes that’ll make you come back for more. Though they don’t have a physical location, you can order curbside or delivery from anywhere to your home or office. They cater, too, so check out their social and website for all of the current servings, availability, and more.

Waffle Iron

When you have breakfast (or brunch) at Waffle Iron, you’ll understand why Food Network named them one of the 50 best waffles in America! You can even take home boxes of their sweet potato pancake and waffle mix if you just can’t get enough. Check out their website, social media, and Collierville location to snag some of their delicious goodies for yourself.

Jamaican Queen Food Truck

The search for Jamaican cooking won’t have you traveling too far with Jamaican Queen’s food truck. If you’ve got a hankering for jerk spices and scrumptious sides, this menu will have something for you! You can’t miss the truck painted with the Jamaican flag, but just in case you want to catch it near you, follow them on Facebook for updates.

Chicken Coop

If you’re on the search for some amazing wings, Chicken Coop is the place for you! So many tantalizing flavors and combinations, how could you possibly choose just one? They don’t just serve up wings, though, offering burgers, hot dogs, and many more things to delight your taste buds. Check out their site for more information, or follow their social media to see what’s new on the menu.

I Love Waffle Cream

We can’t deny we love chicken and waffles, but sometimes you just want waffles and ice cream instead, you know? This is where I Love Waffle Cream excels, offering some delicious waffle and ice cream combos. You may even brave the Memphis winter to get one of these cold treats! (They also have an Elvis-inspired flavor, because would the menu be complete without it?) Find the food truck on their website or social media to see where they’ll be stopping next!

Grillmaster Chew Food Truck

Since Memphis has its own food truck park, it’s no wonder so many amazing food trucks have made this list, including Grillmaster Chew. The taste of BBQ  never gets old in this city and this food truck offers some yummy takes on some classics, like ribs, sandwiches, and barbecue nachos. Find them on Facebook to keep up with their latest locations.

Dr. Bean’s Coffee and Tea

For your caffeine fix, Dr. Bean’s Coffee and Tea has you covered. Since they source their own beans, you know you’re in for some unique flavor profiles with genuine thought and care behind them. You can shop their coffees online or visit their location to enjoy a fresh cup for yourself. Follow them on social for specials and check their website to place an order.

Know some other local eats and treats that are Black-owned that we should know about? Tell us in the comments! We’d love to support some more local, small businesses!
